Activities Conducted With Foreign IP Offices

1. On 9th January 2026, a bilateral exchange session on Computer-related Inventions was conducted with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office

1.On 3rd December 2025, a seminar on Key Automobile Technologies" was organized by the Office of CGPDTM at IPO Delhi with participants from Global Automobile leaders (representing Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association) such as Toyota, Suzuki, Honda and Yamaha.

2. On 8th December 2025, a virtual meeting took place between O/o CGPDTM and INPI, France to review the Activities conducted as per the previous work plan and to formulate the work plan for 2026-27.

3. On 9th December 2025, a Joint interaction (roundtable) of IPO & JPO with Indian and Japanese industry was organized by the O/o CGPDTM at IPO Delhi for discussing the concerns of Indian and Japanese Industry.

4. On 11th December 2025, a meeting held between DPIIT, O/o CGPDTM and JPO to review the Action Plan 2023-25 and deduce new cooperation proposals at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi.

5. On 18th December 2025, a meeting held between DPIIT, O/o CGPDTM and DKPTO to review the Activities conducted in 2025 and to formulate the activity calender for 2026 at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi.

1. On 21st November 2025, a virtual Knowledge Sharing session was organized with Danish Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO) where both offices shared guidelines and best practices for examining Computer Related Inventions.

2. On 28st November 2025, an online exchange program on Patent filling and Examination Process in India and Italy was organized with Italian Patent & trademark Office (UIBM).
- 1. From 6th to 19th October 2025, a QMS meeting was conducted with Danish Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO) at Indian Patent Office, Delhi.
- 2. On 13th October 2025, the DDG of Danish Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO), Ms. Maria Skou paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (CGPDTM). A strategic brainstorming meeting was held where both parties shared the best practices in IP while embarking up future avenues for collaboration between the two offices.
- 1. On 11th September 2025, the Swedish Intellectual Property Office (PRV) and the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (CGPDTM) signed the Renewed Biennial Work Plan to continue their bilateral collaboration.
- 2. On 19th September 2025, the Trade Marks Registry conducted a meeting with the International Intellectual Property Protection Forum (IIPPF), JETRO, and JPO to address stakeholder grievances.
- 3. On 19th September 2025, two officials from the Promotion of the IP System Service, Business Development Department, EUIPO visited the O/o CGPDTM for a courtesy call with the TMR and the International Affairs Division.

1. An online session between the O/o CGPDTM and DKPTO was conducted on "patent information exchange on applications related to Computer-related inventions" on 22nd August 2025
- 2. On 26th August 2025, O/o CGPDTM and IPI, Swiss signed a new Work Plan to strengthen IP cooperation, paving the way for innovation, stronger IP frameworks & economic growth.
- 1. An online session between the O/o CGPDTM and INPI, France on “IP Office’s IT systems and the application of AI” was held on 5th June 2025.
- 2. An online session between the O/o CGPDTM and PRV, Sweden on “Best Practices Related to TKDL” was held on 10th June 2025.

3. An online session between the O/o CGPDTM and JPO, Japan on “IT Division, Examination Management, and Utilization of AI in Examination” was held on 13th June 2025.

4. Two Officials from Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) visited the O/o CGPDTM on 30th June, 2025 to gain insights into India’s patent examination practices, particularly those related to traditional knowledge (TK) and genetic resources (GR), and the integration and utilisation of the Traditional Knowledge Digital Library (TKDL)

1. The USPTO organized a Standard Essential Patent Symposium titled 'Standard Essential Patent Policy and Practices: A U.S. and India Perspective' on 4th and 5th April 2025 in New Delhi. The CGPDTM and three officials from the CGPDTM office attended
- 2. A QMS meeting was conducted with DKPTO from April 22 to April 25, 2025 at IPO, Chennai.
- 3. Four officials from the Copyright office virtually attended the USPTO event - Intellectual Property in Movies: Protecting and Pushing the Boundaries of Creativity and Screening of Movie “A Minecraft Movie” which was held on April 25, 2025 from 2:00 PM. HO, Copyright delivered the keynote address and participated in a panel discussion held during the event.
